FAQ

How does the volunteer process - from registration to helping at the event - work?

If you are interested in supporting us at the IFSC Climbing World Cup + European Cup Innsbruck 2022, please register via our website.
Shortly after your registration you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us.

We will then contact you in May with more detailed information about the area of operation and shift times. A date for a meeting (beginning of June) will also be announced there to clarify important questions in advance and to give a brief introduction to the respective areas.

Is there a minimum age for the volunteers?

Yes. The minimum age for volunteers at the IFSC Climbing World Cup + European Cup Innsbruck 2022 is 16 years. For volunteers under 18 years, one parent or legal guardian must provide a signed consent form at the orientation course at the latest.

Do I have to speak German or English as a volunteer?

As a volunteer you have to speak German very well, ideally, your English is also very good. Depending on the job, very good German skills in both spoken and written form are necessary. Please contact us if you have any questions about this!

Do I have to be available on all days from 21.06. – 16.06.2022?

Your working times vary according to your specific area of work and schedule. For organizational reasons we prefer volunteers that can work within the whole period of the event.

How long is a volunteer shift?

One volunteer shift is between six and ten hours long and involves one, if possible sometimes more breaks distributed over the day. You receive the precise timetable by mid-May at the latest.

Will I spend all day outside?

Depending on your assignment, you will be working indoors or outdoors. During the breaks, there is a staffroom for everyone.

Is there free accommodation for volunteers?

No. International volunteers/ those not living within driving distance to Innsbruck will have to take care of their accommodation themselves. We will assist you with any questions regarding a possible accommodation.

Is there free parking for the volunteers at the venue?

Unfortunately, no parking lots are available for volunteers during the event. We recommend traveling by public transport. There are multiple bus stops less than 10 minutes away (by foot). For example "Kletterzentrum Innsbruck" (line „B“), "Sebastian-Scheel-Straße" (line "T") or "Bahnhof Messe" (line "R")
