IFSC Climbing World Cup
Innsbruck 2023
Climbing is coming home: The Kletterzentrum Innsbruck will also present itself in 2023 in its now traditional competition garb and offer numerous national and international athletes a great stage: Where hundreds of hobby climbers hang on the wall every day and the Austria Climbing national team trains in the federal training center, the international climbing elite will also be guests in June 2023 and turn Innsbruck into an impressive hotspot.
Over seven days (June 12 to 18, 2023), four international competitions are scheduled at the outdoor location of the climbing center. All the top stars including Olympic champion Janja Garnbret, the US American Natalia Grossman, the Japanese star Tomoa Narasaki and the exceptional Czech Adam Ondra will once again be paying their respects in Austria alongside the red-white-red athletes.
Innsbruck is the final and the kick-off at the same time
After the extremely successful events of the last two years, Innsbruck-Tyrol will again host four international competitions within a few days in 2023: A Speed European Cup and World Cups in the disciplines Paraclimbing, Bouldering and Lead. The IFSC Climbing World Cup Innsbruck 2023 is also special because the last Bouldering World Cup and the first Lead World Cup of the season will be held in the Tyrolean capital - a unique climbing event goes into overtime, so to speak. All eyes of the international climbing community will again be on the hometown of Olympic bronze medalist Jakob Schubert. Innsbruck is and will remain the highlight in climbing in 2023.
Therefore, the mobile bouldering wall from the home World Championships 2018 will be used again, which was extended by 12 meters in the past in order to meet and do justice to the constantly increasing requirements as well as the large number of participants. More than 400 athletes from over 30 nations will once again compete for the prestigious podium places in Innsbruck. Great top-class sport, many emotions and a lot of action are guaranteed!
All climbing enthusiasts will also experience in 2023 many thrilling duels in the Speed European Cup, impressive paraclimbing action, spectacular lead competitions on the climbing tower or acrobatic bouldering interludes on the wall. One thing is for sure, the live experience pays off and the moments experienced will be loyal companions for a long time to come.
